Our academy vision is the result of a piece of work involing our staff, parents, children and the governing body which focused on exploring our values and what is important to us all. During this piece of work we explored what matters to the different groups in our academy and looked at the material in 'The Index For Inclusion', a toolkit for schools.
We have identified that 'inclusion' for us means increasing participation for all by reducing barriers through nurture and support for all children and their families so that the children at our academy thrive, develop holistically and reach their full potential.
Our vision: we strive to achieve a community of adults and children who feel valued and have a passion for life- long learning which is inspired by high quality teaching and an ethos which celebrates the development of the whole child and acknowledges the achievements of all.
Our mission: fostering resilient, self- motivated learners who will thrive in the 21st Century.
We revisit our values every two years. The following values were agreed in September 2017 and encompass our recognition that 'stars' are important to us all. We believe that everyone is a star and is unique in their only special way. We celebrate diversity at our school and believe that every star is entitked to shine. Our motto is, 'every part of every day is a chance to shine in a whole new way.'

We celebrate our values in action through acknowledgement in our weekly celebration assembly. Additionally, our pupil voice group, The Academy Council designed our 'Respect Code' following a piece of work they undertook with the whole school around how we should behave towards one an other. Children are awarded House Tokens for demonstarting these qualities at break, lunch time and throughout other times of the day as well as during lesson time.
