Science Cafe 16th March 2016

This year's British Science Week theme was all about SPACE, not just outer space, but the way we know it. No, this year we explored the digital space, the built space, the open space and the personal space too.

Our Science morning began in the hall with an introduction to all the differnet kinds of space. This was followed by the story of the 'Five Little Fiends' by Sarah Dyer. This story was chosen because it made reference to three out the five types of space mentioned above.

Year 6 Visit to UTCN

Year Six visited the University Technical College in Norwich on Friday 10th July.

On arrival, we were watched a video all about engineering and its application in everyday life. We were split into two groups and went off to take part in science and engineering tasks.

The first activity involved an F1 in schools challenge. The groups were given a model which they had to reproduce and then add their own wheels and axles. After decoration, each model had a rocket added and then the racing began!

Wayland Junior Academy Watton

Wayland Junior Academy Watton became the first primary school to join the TEN Group on the 1st April 2014. This is an exciting development for the school, the Watton community and for the federation as a whole, as it means there is now a TEN Group progression pathway from Key Stage 2 right through to degree level. Prior to this Watton Junior School had already been working closely with neighbouring Wayland Academy Norfolk to support pupils’ progression into Key Stage 3, supported by the considerable experience and expertise across curriculum areas and across phases within the TEN Group.
