This year’s Cross Country has been another major success for the pupils of WJAW. We had 47 children across the school taking part in the Wayland Cup which took place on the 7th November at the High School.
To improve levels of fitness children across the school undertook training session on Tuesday and Thursday lunchtimes to get ready for the Wayland Cup Tournament.
This most definitely paid off.
Wayland Junior Academy runners came 2nd in the Wayland Cup.
What an outstanding achievement for every single runner that took place. Great team spirit and effort from everyone.
All of the children have come such a long way since we started the training session which, will continue throughout the year to encourage more and more children to just get out there, run and be as active as they can.
We have been amazed at the commitment and endurance of the children that attended the tournament in particular young McKenzie Reynolds in Year 3 who ploughed home with a 1st place leaving all the other year 3s behind him. A shout out to L Head, F Sosnowski, F Taylor, E Cooper and M Chalkley who all came home in respectable places. A massive well done to all those that attended. Mrs Owen and I are so so proud of you all. Keep up the hard work. Thank you to Mrs Reeve and Mrs Carroll our parent volunteers, see you next year.
