On Thursday 18th May, pupils travelled all around the world and into space through the wonders of virtual reality (VR) headsets. Google Education offer the opportunity for schools to take part in this project which allows pupils to explore the natural world, ancient monuments and beautiful cities amongst many other fascinating places.
Wayland Junior pupils took a trip to the International Space Station and saw Tim Peake; swam along the Great Barrier Reef and explored the Seven New Wonders of the World. There were erupting volcanoes; encounters with dinosaurs and beautiful night time scenes of famous cities around our globe. The children thoroughly enjoyed the chance to explore the world and when given the chance requested many other exciting locations like Antarctica and Iceland.
This fascinating 360 degree experience led into some great exploration lessons later in the day.
