On Monday 12th June, twelve of our year five children had a fantastic visit to Cambridge to launch the Brilliant Club.
The Brilliant Club project runs for this term and means the children will take part in weekly tutorials with a PhD student before writing a 1000 word essay by the end of term. As a start to this, the children visited Corpus Christi College in Cambridge for the day.
The brilliant clubbers took part in their first tutorial with their tutor, learnt some new study skills and had a tour of the college. The children were amazed by the beautiful surroundings and really enjoyed having a small taste of what university life is like including eating in the beautifully adorned main hall for lunch with the students.
Everyone was very inspired by the day and many said they would love to attend a college just like this one when they are older.
Stay tuned for some essay excerpts in the future!
