Staff and pupils had a thoroughly enjoyable day out together participating in the Big Sing. Blessed with beautiful weather, 260 excited children piled into coaches in the morning of May 3rd in anticipation of the big day ahead.
We had all been preparing for months in advance, learning songs, practising harmonies and even some dance choreography. It was fantastic to finally get to showcase our hard work with hundreds of other schools from all across Norfolk.
We were thrilled and delighted when the event kicked off with music from world-famous singers Alexandra Burke and Clean Bandits. Then it was our turn. We sang, we danced, we clapped along with 9000 other children and adults.
In between songs we munched our picnic lunches contentedly and enjoyed basking in the sunlight. Then, tired after a long day, we made our way back to school. All, that is, except Coach 2 which got promptly stuck in the mud.
Music isn't always given as a high a profile as it should get in schools so it was such a valuable opportunity for the children to participate in a musical event to develop their singing skills. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, despite the odd red sunburnt nose the next day.
